Presidents Welcome
Welcome to the Albany Creek Swim Club for the 2020/21 Season. Whether you are joining us as a swimmer, parent, supporter, coach or official we are pleased to have you as part of the Albany Creek Swim Club family.
Albany Creek Swim Club fosters participation at all levels of swimming – from our youngest swimmers swimming 12.5m with a buddy to our more experienced swimmers competing on the international stage.
From October to March we run weekly Club Nights where all of our swimmers are able to enjoy the fun, friendship and fitness of participating in our member-only meets. Club Nights are fantastic fun and require a team of people to ensure they are well run. I would encourage all parents to get involved – it’s a great way to learn about swimming and to meet other parents. You can find more information about Club Nights on our website here.
As one of Brisbane Swimming’s Premier Clubs we have a large team of swimmers that compete at Club, Brisbane, Queensland and National swimming events. Our swimmers have enjoyed some fantastic achievements over the years. You can see some of these on our Achievements page. You can find more information about swimming competitions on our website here.
Our success in the pool is directly attributed to effective and valued partnership with the Albany Creek Leisure Centre Squads Program and our shared highly respected and successful coaching staff. Our coaches, led by Brendon Dowling, include Maddie Clarke, and Calum Ryan. You can read about our fantastic coaches here. The Squads Program is run by the Albany Creek Leisure Centre, which you can find more information about here.
Our success as a Club is also directly attributed to our fantastic volunteers including our Committee. We encourage all new members to get to know the Committee – we are always pleased to hear from you. You can find the Committee contact details here.
I encourage all members to read the Albany Creek Swim Club Strategic Plan for 2016-2020 which not only sets out our mission, vision and role but also sets out the priority areas for the Club’s development. Also our Club Handbook is a valuable resource that describes how our Club operates. These and many other useful Club documents are available on the Forms and Documents page.
Good communication is central to our club and our website is a useful way in which the Committee can communicate with all our members. We also have our Facebook page which I strongly encourage you to Like/Follow. Our Facebook page is used to communicate urgent messages and information.
See you around the pool.
